There are various methods for signalling to an Alarm Receiving Centre and some of these are listed below.
All of the above means of signalling connect to your existing telephone line (dependant on your service provider and other devices on the line) and signal to an Approved Alarm Receiving Centre. Various alarms can be signalled and typically include personal attack, intruder, confirmed intruder, fire, medical, trouble. Your Insurance Company will normally determine the method of signalling and it will be dependent on risk assessment, stock value/property contents and general location/setting. A Police response can only be achieved (on new alarms or upgrades) by the installation of a PD6662 compliant system that also conforms to ACPO (The Association of Chief Police Officers) Policy. In essence, a system can only receive Police response if the Alarm Receiving Centre receives a 'confirmed' signal. A confirmed signal is achieved when two separate devices, of differing technologies, are triggered (not including the entry/exit route), or two separate devices of the same technologies that do not overlap. |
